Reverberation

By comparing the opposite of the data collected from this research project, where engaging with the arts has a positive effect on student engagement and wellbeing, we are able to examine the reverberations. If we compare the data to the human experience of learning in a traditional classroom, we are able to realise that that it is possible and necessary for this to be transformed dramatically. Discovered through the reverberations from a place of thirdness, a space in between the spaces of similarity and difference, what already exists and what we are questioning, we are able to see what needs to change and are offered a glimpse of how this may be possible (Irwin, 2017). Through the A/r/tographic process of living inquiry, this notion is something that I will be continually exploring on my journey as an artist/researcher/educator .

Data Analysis

Metaphor and Metonomy

The metaphor of the Space Between the Ground and the Clouds has made it possible to access, discuss and analyse the human experience of this research project. In the data collection and exploration process, I observed all 6 students in this space frequently as they worked on their passion projects. It was also evident that the students in the study discussed by Atkinson & Robson (2012), were existing in this space. As well as experiencing it myself, during the moments discussed in some of the reflections and while experimenting with the proposed classroom activities. The use of light throughout the artworks in this research project further extends on this metaphor, weaving it through the process and the practice of inquiry.
